1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone

5. When typing, press and hold the 🌐 globe icon to switch to UnderText

Full Access permission is required for:

• AI Translation: Network access for Azure OpenAI (Premium only)
• On-Device Translation: Apple Translation framework (works offline, iOS 26.0+)
• Word Pronunciation: On-device speech synthesis
• Dictionary Lookup: Word definition API access

UnderText requires iOS 26.0 or later to use the latest Apple Translation API.

This ensures the best translation quality and privacy with on-device processing.

Most users are happy with Apple Translation alone - it's fast, private, and works offline!

UnderText includes 6 keyboard layouts:

Enable "Auto-adjust Layout" in settings to automatically switch based on your input language.

Telex is a typing method for Vietnamese characters:

• w alone → ư
• aw → ă
• ow → ơ
• aa → â
• ee → ê
• oo → ô
• dd → đ

Tone marks:

• a + s → á (sắc)
• a + f → à (huyền)
• a + r → ả (hỏi)
• a + x → ã (ngã)
• a + j → ạ (nặng)

Auto-correction: ưo → ươ for valid syllables (e.g., "lươn", "tươi")

This feature shows translations in real-time and is available to ALL users (free and premium):

• As you type, translation updates every 300ms
• Free users: Uses Apple on-device translation (private, fast, unlimited)
• Premium users: Uses AI-powered Azure OpenAI (superior accuracy)
• No need to tap translate button
• Translation appears in preview bar above keyboard

Enable in: Advanced Settings → Real-time Translation toggle

1. Full Access: Make sure it's enabled in iOS Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → UnderText
2. Internet: Azure OpenAI (Premium) requires internet (Apple Translation works offline)
3. Language packs: For Apple Translation, download language packs in the Translate app
4. Premium tokens: If you're Premium and ran out of AI tokens, the app falls back to unlimited Apple Translation
5. iOS version: Ensure you have iOS 26.0 or later

1. Verify UnderText is added: Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards
2. Restart your iPhone
3. Try switching keyboards by pressing and holding the 🌐 globe icon
4. Remove and re-add the keyboard if issues persist

In the main app:

1. Scroll to the bottom
2. Tap "Reset Settings" in the About section
3. Confirm

This resets all preferences to defaults but keeps your flashcards and subscription.

Save vocabulary for later review:

1. After translating, tap any word in the translation
2. Select "Learn" (⭐ icon)
3. Word pair is saved to your flashcard deck
4. Review in main app → Flashcards tab

The spaced repetition system automatically schedules reviews for optimal retention.
